چکیده
The goal of this study was to examine the impact using additional aluminum (Al) and copper (Cu) filters on radiation dose during adult chest x-ray examination. Adult phantoms without with different slabs animal fat were used for simulating underweight, overweight, obese patients, respectively. Phantoms examined various levels extra Al Cu filtering over a range exposure parameters. A area product (DAP) meter measure dose. Results demonstrated that doses significantly reduced (p=0.001) when applying compared no all phantom sizes. highest reduction in dosage 38, 41, 42 percent size, respectively, by 1mm Al+0.2mm Cu. In conclusion, use imaging provides an optimal choice regardless thickness region be radiographed. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.31257/2018/JKP/2022/140206

Dose Reduction to the Thyroid Gland in Pediatric Chest Radiography
Background It is remain a main concern that pediatric chest radiographies contribute to the significant radiation exposure to the thyroid gland as a more susceptible organ to radiation induced cancer. The aim of this study was to evaluate the entrance surface dose (ESD) of pediatric chest radiography compared to the diagnostic reference levels (DRL) and evaluation the efficacy of the lead (Pb)...
متن کاملThe Practice of Chest Radiography Using Different Digital Imaging Systems: Dose and Image Quality
Introduction: The study was undertaken to evaluate the practice of chest radiography using different digital imaging systems and its influence on dose and image quality. Materials and Methods: The study was carried out in two hospitals from March 2016 to June 2016. Sixty ambulatory patients aged 21 to 60 years who were able to cooperate without difficulty and weighed between 60 to 80 kg were ...
متن کاملfibrotic changes on chest radiography
Objectives-To examine whether or not workers with pre-existing mild pulmonary fibrosis have accelerated decline in forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) or forced vital capacity (FVC), under low level exposure to chrysotile asbestos. Methods-All male workers in two asbestos manufacturing factories were followed up annually for six years to compare their declines in FEV1 and FVC. The val...
متن کاملEndobronchial Tuberculosis and Chest Radiography
Endobronchial tuberculosis and chest radiography I read, with interest, the article entitled “Clinical and Para-clinical Presentations of Endobronchial Tuberculosis” by Ahmadi Hoseini H. S. et al. (1) published in this journal. I would like to focus on some details about the chest X-ray of patients as elaborated by the authors in the results section. Accordingly, the findings of chest radiograp...
متن کاملEvaluation of the Influence of Exposure Index on Image Quality and Radiation Dose
Introduction: The introduction of digital radiography has led to a significant problem in terms of dose creep. To address this problem, manufacturers have established a set of exposure indicators (EI) as a feedback mechanism to safeguard against overexposure. The EI is the measure of incident exposure to the detector that is directly proportional to the signal-to-noise...
